This morning, I was very late for work again, and as I walked out of the Tube station, I got greeted by a young beggar. He was charming, with his dog, in his sleeping bag on the ground, wishing me a nice day in such a nice way. Besides, he had this very latin accent, probably italian... He wasn't really handsome, just very nice. So, well, I didn't resist, I walked back and gave him the few coins left in my pocket.
I'm wondering, had it been a girl with a scottish accent, would I have given her money? I feel guilty of discrimination.
Update: Thinking about it, I had, in Orléans, my favourite beggar, who was a 40-something woman. She was very lively, very smiling, always jumping around to ask for money. I used to give her everytime I saw her. So, it's okay, I'm not some fucking discriminator!
