Panem et circenses

"X Factor" is not only about finding pretty faces. It's also about finding utter counter-celebrities.

In the first part of the series, just like in France, the jury auditions people and choose the best candidates. And when someone is bad, they are also highlighted to make sure that spectators can let go of their darkest feelings. I watched these shows too and I enjoyed laughing at these people too. But the English X Factor managed to take it to a whole new level!

This year, during the final, when the public's favorite candidates were fighting for the first place, producers appointed on stage the worst auditionees TO MAKE THEM SING LIVE! When I saw that, I was buffled! It looked like the humiliation they suffered during the first part was not enough, they needed to come back to finish off their ultimate piece of dignity, and to sacrify it on the altar of Panem et circenses. Because, indeed, if they came back this time, after being laughed at nationwide, there is only one explanation: money. You can respect someone who believed in their lucky star and who failed once, you can't however respect someone who gets prepared to be ridiculed once again in order to get money. And this is how it looks:

The credits of that video must be on the website hosting it.

The most horrible sequence is probably the one with the obese girl. Having four guys carrying her in order to show the spectator they needed several guys to take her on stage, it looks like a "freak show", which is so insulting that it's violent.

These youngsters should sue the TV channel and the production, get loads of money back and gain some dignity from it.

Tell me, they didn't do the same in France, right?
