One of the most important projects on the web is Wikipedia. This is a true encyclopedia online talking about everything, from Napoleon to the latest hot band in Japan, via the Big Bang.
Wikipedia is a project that is maintained and sponsorised by its own users, which makes it a popular tool, without advertising and always up-to-date, but also, imprecise. Indeed, the info published is not always right. Likewise, validation rules for texts are confused on some points.
Polemics happened on the website: after Ségolène Royal, french socialist candidate for the presidency, made a language mistake and said bravitude instead of bravoure ("courage") on the Great Wall, a user rushed to create a page stating the sense of the word and its creator. The article ended up deleted but it is not sure the polemics really ended.
Wikipedia is a very powerful tool but it needs to work out the angles a bit more.
