Daily Galaxy keeps discussing about more and more interesting questions. Today, regarding évolution, "has human culture replaced biology?" And the answer is full of surprises! At least, for a neophyte like me. (Even though some points seem a little far-stretched, or clumsy.)
Also, Daily Galaxy seems to suffer from a lack of cash, so feel free to click on the banners :)
I export the posts of my blog to Facebook and I'm super jealous: the posts receive more comments on Facebook than on my blog now.
To get revenge, I now import a light version of my blog asking users to click on a link that brings them on my blog, where they can comment too!
So, did it work?
Google is wonderful. They can't stop growing and they manage to build very ambitious projects, so much that you could wonder whether they are gonna take over the world someday...
Google Streetview is a service that enables you to see a designated place just as if you were there. So my house is on Google Streetview. But the funniest thing is that, at the moment the picture was taken, I was drying my boxers on my curtain...
Yeah... This was not a legend just to make something nice on my blog.
I'm a Vampire God!
I don't know if you know this thing, this is a Facebook application in which you're a vampire. You start as a shit vampire, but you make points and your vampire evolves. The greatest level is the level 10. And lately, I finally reached this level 10! I finally became a Vampire God! Ha ha ha!!!
Ah er... Shit. Actually, the number of points suddenly increased because they created new ways to make points and besides, new levels! Now there are 20 levels! Shit! Well, at least, with these new points, I went straight to level 12! I am nom a Vampire Lord... But still, Vampire God sounded better...
Level 9 était wasn't bad either, Vampire Emperor with a design à la Coppola's Dracula...
But how am I gonna do now to reach level 20? These bastards know how to pressure their players!
Stupid shit game!!!
I've got loads of posts to write but I couldn't resist the idea of posting this video.
This is where I met my first boyfriend... yeah, Caramail, one of the first popular chatroom of France is going to disappear. [Via Citizen L.]
So, so, who won the GAGA AWARDS???
GAGA AWARD of the song of the year
Of course, it's Overpowered by Róisín Murphy who wins this year! I couldn't stop listening to this song, because it's simple, nice song which I could identify with. I liked the fact that she tells how she forgot a guy ("When I think that I'm over you, I'm overpowered"), but also that she wonders how she got into him in the first place, and whether it's a pure biolemolecular phenomenon ("As science struggles on to try to explain, oxytoxins flowing ever into my brain"). Well yeah, it's kind of like what happened to me this year. And I must have talked about this song about 30000 times here. However, I hesitated a bit with Total Information Awareness by Trans Am, but I'll write a specific post for this one.
GAGA AWARD of the gig of the year
It's hard to say which concert is better than another. A concert is an atmosphere, a music, a band, the mood of this band as well, an audience, and stuff. You can see the same band twice in the same conditions and have a different feeling. this year, the best concert I went to was the first concert of the Midnight Juggernauts at the Scala on March 20th. The room was hysterical, the music explosive and I was totally drunk. I would add a distinction to Metronomy because they were good and also very funny on stage.
GAGA AWARD of the album of the year
Once again, no surprise, this price goes to Dystopia by the Midnight Juggernauts. They will have been ;y revelation of the year. Their electro-pop-rock music with space disco accents drives me crazy. Their album is a sequence of hits, but not only. It's also a whole universe, made of cosmic trips and planetary revolutions, that is explored. My only fear now is that their next album will be just a copy of this one. But I want it to be about the same universe, still. We'll see!
GAGA AWARD of the movie of the year
No hesitation, Waking Life by Richard Linklater will have been another revelation! It's one of the most unconventional movies I've ever seen. It's impossible to tell the story, even though it's very simple. Scenes, not necessarily linked, follow each other in this movie questioning life, the individual, society, mankind, history, time, the world... what particularly struck me is the scene in which a guy explains the quantic theory that I had just read about in Stephen Hawking's book. This movie can give headaches and I had to watch it several times. The ending is successful. In a nutshell, you must see it!
GAGA AWARD of the book of the year
Well, I've just talked about it... A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking has been the book that has changed me the most this year, because it's the book that ended my deterministic vision of the world. I talked about it before so I won't make a whole review again! The Alchemist was not too bad either.
GAGA AWARD of the political event of the year
Oh, it's a tie! From a purely emotional viewpoint, the unexpected victory of Hillary Clinton in the democratic primaries of New Hampshire pretty much shook me. Hillary, that I had supported for months, was expected to lose badly in this State, and she made it. It was spectacular! Then, from a rational viewpoint, the financial crisis was a major event this year.
GAGA AWARD of the news website of the year
Well Slate. A website that can be insightful, specific and funny at the same time. Pointless to say more!
GAGA AWARD of the funny website of the year
I love geek humour. XKCD is just the best in this area.
GAGA AWARD of the blog of the year
So, the most waited GAGA AWARD for my readers... (Suspens...) The winner of the GAGA AWARD of the blog of the year is... Mauvaise Langue! Congrats! A blog with short, straight to the point, funny and irreverent posts, in which you can find characters such as La Grosse Gouine (the Big Fat Dyke) and Lola Lopsa ("Lopsa" being slang for "Salope", that is "Bitch"), in which you can learn how to give a good blowjob and in which words can shock even the crack addicts down my street. And this is how we like Mauvaise Langue! (Long applause, standing ovation, Mauvaise Langue's JU takes the mike for his victory speech and then... well, I let him do if he wants to!) I will still give a distinction to VUBOQ for this post.
GAGA AWARD of blog of honour
I had to find a way to award Laurent for his hot kisses, so I created this GAGA AWARD especially for him: Embruns wins this GAGA AWARD of honour for his whole work. Bravo, Captain!
GAGA AWARD of the post of the year
Well, regarding the post of the year, I had only 2 votes!! What's wrong, guys?! I can't declare a winner with that! So I give you an extra week to express yourselves. You can find the list of pre-selected posts and vote there. What can I do to motivate you to vote? Let you win another jockstrap?!
